How to Set Your Monitor Not to Sleep on Windows 10

If you’re like most people, you probably have your computer set to go to sleep after a certain amount of time of inactivity. While this can save you power, it can also be annoying if you’re in the middle of working on something and your monitor goes to sleep. Luckily, it’s easy to change this setting so that your monitor will stay on as long as you want it to.

To start, open the Start menu and search for ‘power options’. Click on the ‘Edit power plan’ link in the search results. In the window that opens, click on the ‘Change advanced power settings’ link. In the next window, expand the ‘Display’ section and then expand the ‘Turn off display after’ setting. Change the ‘On battery’ and ‘Plugged in’ settings to ‘Never’. Click ‘OK’ to save your changes and then close the window.

Now your monitor will never go to sleep as long as you’re logged in to your computer. If you ever want to change this setting back, just follow the steps above and change the ‘On battery’ and ‘Plugged in’ settings back to the original values.
