You’ve got your new speakers and your new monitor, and you’re ready to rock. But how do you actually connect the two? It’s not as simple as just plugging them in, unfortunately – there’s a bit of a process to follow to get the best sound quality. But don’t worry, we’re here to guide you through it.
The first thing you need to do is identify the input ports on your monitor. Most monitors will have multiple ports, so you’ll need to figure out which one is for audio. It’s usually labelled with a little headphone icon, but if you’re not sure just consult your monitor’s manual.
Once you’ve found the right port, it’s time to connect your speakers. The vast majority of speakers use 3.5mm audio cables, so you’ll need to find the cable that came with your speakers (or buy one if you don’t have one).
Once you’ve got the cable, plug one end into the port on your monitor and the other into the port on your speakers. If your speakers have multiple ports, consult the manual to figure out which one to use.
Now that your speakers are plugged in, it’s time to power them on. Most speakers have a power switch on the back, so just flip that to the “on” position. Some speakers will also have a volume control, so you can adjust the sound to your liking.
And that’s it! You’re now ready to enjoy your favourite tunes on your new speakers. Just remember to turn them off when you’re finished, or you’ll be wasting a lot of energy.
