You can check the refresh rate of your monitor in two ways. The first way is to use the Windows Display Properties dialog box. The second way is to use a special utility designed to display your monitor’s refresh rate. We’ll show you both methods.
To check the refresh rate using the Windows Display Properties dialog box:
- Right-click on the desktop and choose Properties from the pop-up menu.
- Click on the Settings tab.
- Click on the Advanced button.
- Click on the Monitor tab.
- Click on the Screen Refresh Rate drop-down list and select the refresh rate you want to use.
- Click on the Apply button.
- Click on the OK button.
To check the refresh rate using a special utility:
- Download and install the NirCmd utility.
- Open a Command Prompt window.
- Type the following command and press Enter:
nircmd.exe setdisplaymode id 1 refreshrate 60
Replace 60 with the refresh rate you want to use.
You can also use the MonitorInfoView utility to check the refresh rate of your monitor.
