As a first consideration, Because its large curved screen provides an immersive gaming experience, and while its 1080p resolution isn’t the sharpest, it puts a lighter load on the graphics card so that you can get higher frame rates. It’s impressively well-built, but it doesn’t offer much in terms of ergonomics as you can only adjust the height and tilt. Want to know further please check out Curved vs. Flat Monitors.
It sports a VA panel with a high contrast ratio, making it a good choice for dark rooms. It has a 144Hz refresh rate and excellent response time, resulting in clear images with only a short blur trail behind fast-moving objects. However, the response time is much slower at 60Hz, so it isn’t ideal for 60fps console gaming.
It supports FreeSync natively and is certified as G-SYNC compatible. Despite having a VA panel, its viewing angles are adequate, making it a good choice for co-op gaming, as long as you don’t mind a slightly inaccurate image.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t support HDR and is pretty light on extra features. You can add a frame rate counter or timer to the screen or use its dark stabilizer feature to make objects more visible in dark areas.
There’s also a display alignment feature that helps you align the displays in a multi-monitor setup. Overall, it’s not the most feature-rich monitor, but it should please most people shopping on a tight budget nonetheless.
HP X24IH Best choice Under $200
Main key features of CHEAPER ALTERNATIVE: HP X24IH
you’re shopping on a very tight budget, consider the HP X24iH. It’s very similar to the Acer Nitro XF243Y Pbmiiprx as it also has a 24-inch screen and a 1080p resolution. It has a lower 144 Hz refresh rate compared to Acer’s 165Hz, but its response time is slightly better. It lacks HDR support and a Black Frame Insertion feature; However, it isn’t a big loss since the Acer can’t display a wide color gamut anyway, and its BFI isn’t usable while VRR is active. The only other difference is that the ergonomics are worse because they’d swivel at all.
If you can afford it, go with the Acer because it has a higher refresh rate and offers more ergonomic adjustments. However, if you find it a little too expensive and don’t mind compromising a bit, the HP is a great alternative.
If you’re just looking for an affordable gaming monitor and you need the high refresh rate that the options above come with then the BenQ GL2760H is worth considering. It’s not built specifically for gamers like some of the other options on this list, but it does have one thing going for it that the others don’t: it comes with a 27 ″ display.
So, if all you really need is a 1080P 60Hz monitor for less competitive gaming, and having more screen real estate would be more beneficial to you, then the BenQ GL2760H would be a solid option for you.
Again, it comes with a 27 ″ 1080P display with a 60Hz refresh rate. It has a 2ms response time and comes with both DVI and HDMI ports. Those features alone might not help this monitor stand out, but at just under $ 200 this is one of the most affordable 27-inch monitors currently on the market.

While curved displays aren’t entirely new, the most recent wave of them began to erupt around 2013. The most obvious advantage of curved monitors is the way they wrap around your peripheral vision increasing immersion.
If you’ve ever watched a movie or played a video game on a curved monitor, then you already know what a difference this makes.
However, the benefits extend far beyond the immersion. Studies have shown that curved monitors can actually reduce the causes and symptoms of eye fatigue and eye pain.
Generally, a smoother curvature (a curvature as subtle as 4000R was used in this study) leads to less eyestrain. This particular model uses a balanced 1800R curvature to deliver the benefits of eyestrain while preserving the fascinating nature of curved screens.
Even without the curved screen, this monitor still boasts some very impressive stats. With a fast 144Hz refresh rate, your games will not only envelop you, they will be as smooth as ever. Also, this monitor uses a VA panel that has a solid color output and viewing angles.
The only real downside to this monitor is the stand, which has a nice tilt adjustment but lacks height adjustment. The stand is also quite tall, which means that if you have a taller desk, the monitor might end up being a bit tall.
We cheated a little bit with this pick as MSI’s Optix G24C 24 ″ monitor comes in at slightly above $ 200. However, it’s worth noting because, while it is very similar to the two monitor options listed above, it has one other standout feature that might sway you to pay the small premium to get it: it has a curved panel display.
Like the two monitors listed above, the Optix G24C 24 ″ monitor has a 1080P resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms response time. The Optix G24C does opt for Adaptive-Sync technology rather than FreeSync, though.
However, FreeSync was built on the open-source Adaptive-Sync technology and so, just like FreeSync, newer AMD graphics cards will work with Adaptive Sync as well.
So, that makes this monitor yet another really nice option for competitive gamers who want a budget-friendly 144Hz monitor. While it does cost a little bit more than the two options listed above if the curved panel display that the Optix G24C offers piques your interest, that could mean that it’s the better option for you.
The BenQ GW2780 monitor is more optimized for home and office use, but its IPS panel, incredible color accuracy, and 5ms response time provide gamers with a great low-cost option.
The design has that classic BenQ look, with slim bezels and a sturdy stand to boot. While the mount only features a slight tilt, there’s a compartment to hide cables inside, leaving your setup looking cleaner than ever.
While there may not be a lot of gaming features for this budget option, the 27 ″ IPS panel is beautiful and delivers incredibly accurate colors for the price. Surprisingly, this comes with a 5ms response time, which we consider the upper limit for gamers, but you won’t notice any difference unless you play a lot of competitive games.
Since this is a BenQ, you get their proprietary eye care technology and some built-in speakers to use right out of the box. The viewing angles are very wide thanks to the IPS panel, leaving you with a monitor that you can use for much more than just gaming.
Overall, this 1080p monitor is a great budget option, well under $ 200. While it may not be the best for gaming, it packs a lot of features for the price, in addition to BenQ build quality. Great color reproduction, IPS panel, Excellent overall build quality.Mediocre response time 60Hz refresh rate.
When it comes to gaming monitors, refresh rate is the number one specification that most people are looking at. So it only makes sense that the number one gaming monitor on our list is a high refresh rate model from Acer.
The XFA240 has a 144Hz refresh rate meaning all your games will feel super smooth, that is, as long as you have a GPU that can push out high frame rates in your favorite titles. Even if you can’t though, this monitor supports Nvidia G-sync, meaning that mismatched frame rates won’t cause screen tearing… assuming you have an Nvidia GPU, of course.
While refresh rate is often the first thing that comes to mind for people when they think of what they want in a gaming monitor, one of the most commonly overlooked aspects of monitors is ergonomics. This monitor has one of the best stands on our list with heightustment, pivot, tilt, and swivel. This lets you put the monitor in the perfect position for your preferred setup and is a great feature for people who know the suffering of neck pain because your monitor is too high or too low.
All that said, the one major drawback to this monitor is that it uses a TN panel. We’ll address this in more detail shortly in the guide section below, but for now, it is important to know that TN panels have poor viewing angles and are not the best at color production.

The Acer XFA240 is primarily aimed at competitive gamers and the feature set proves it. It’s a great option for any competitive gamer with fast response times, G-Sync compatibility, and an adjustable stand.
The design is nothing to write home about, it’s a pretty standard-looking monitor from the front with regular-looking bezel edges. That being said, the stand it comes with does an excellent job for the price as you can tilt, turn, and rotate the screen. Other than that, the simplistic look is quite nice, and overall we have a very low-profile monitor here.
Features are where the Acer monitor comes into play. The monitor features a high 144Hz refresh rate, which is perfect for any gamer, and if that wasn’t enough, it also has a high 1ms response time! So in terms of gaming, the performance is great and can only get better with the inclusion of G-Sync support, giving you a satisfying game without tears.
This Acer gaming monitor gives the impression that it is for expert gamers and offers, every feature that enhances your overall gaming experience and is worth investing in. Acer ships this great monitor with a screen size of 21.5 inches which has an aspect ratio of 16: 9 and supports a screen resolution in Full HD or 1920 x 1080 with a refresh rate of 75 Hz. It is an IPS-style monitor fantastic for professional and high-quality work with images, graphics, and viewing angles.
The monitor comes with AMD free sync technology whi. If have an AMD graphics card installed in your machine, the monitor will lock its refresh rate to the framerate that your GPU is displaying at which should eliminate things like screen tearing or stuttering.
There is almost no frame, which would make this an excellent monitor for a multi-display setup but it does not have VESA mount capability which means you will have to get creative if you want to include this monitor in your multi-display setup. Personally, I don’t mind a challenge and I think this monitor is worth a little logistical creativity.
For your connectivity needs, this monitor comes with an HDMI port and a VGA port.
It comes with the ability to tilt with a range of negative 5 degrees to 15 degrees. Not much, but not every monitor is even capable of tilting so this is a mark in its favor. At # 2 it’s a great monitor for everyone and a great gaming monitors under $ 200
The response time is 4 milliseconds which isn’t fantastic for gaming but it should still be capable of it. This will be the best FreeSync monitor for gaming on this list. If you are going to build a 200 $ gaming pc then this is the monitor I recommend from this list.
In short, this monitor is slightly lower quality than the last entry with a slightly lower price which makes it an excellent substitute if that one was just a little out of your price range or you are looking for cheap good monitors. This is also a better monitor to go with if you are going to be doing more gaming.
Some of the cons of this display are the lack of connectivity ports and having no compatibility with VESA mounting. The overall lack of quality-of-life features included with this monitor holds it back, but you can’t ask for much considering the excellent price of this monitor. Good Image Quality, Inexpensive.Radeon FreeSync. No VESA compatibility.
